Meet Melissa Hooper, RP
I believe when we can view life as a journey full of changes and challenges, we unlock the potential to grow and experience ourselves in a different light. When we can recognize our innate humanity and acknowledge our behaviour as a sum of our life experiences, we can better understand and empathize not only with ourselves, but with others as well.

My philosophy for therapy is to create a safe and non judgmental environment for individuals and couples to explore challenging issues. I believe my role as therapist is to accompany clients through a process towards growth, self-compassion and healing. I work with clients to help them deepen their understanding of themselves, appreciate their own strengths and challenges and develop resources that enable the realization of their goals.
In Couple Therapy, I work with partners to connect more deeply. I help clients recognize and understand the roots of the couple dynamic, and identify and overcome emotional barriers that keep them distant. Through this process, clients develop relational trust and vulnerability that enables communication of each partner's emotional and sexual intimacy needs.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I have a Masters of Psychotherapy with specialization in Couple Therapy and trained extensively in the area of Sexuality with the Board of Examiners of Sexual Therapists and Counsellors of Ontario. My practice is LGBTQIA2S+Kink and Ethical Non-Monogamy supportive and I am respectful of all cultural, sexual, socio-economic and gender identities.
